The term ‘influencer’ carries positive and negative vibes with it. But what was considered optional for the local church just a few years ago has nearly become a requirement in maintaining community in the midst of a worldwide pandemic! We saw so many who had yet to create an online presence for their church or ministry become painfully, and urgently, aware that the circumstances surrounding Covid-19 were not going to quickly evaporate.
In today's episode we acknowledge the need to be interacting on social media. The Church has a unique opportunity through the various social media platforms–from Facebook to Instagram, TikTok to Snapchat, and then through websites and video platforms like YouTube. But how do we go about that? And what does it look like for a minister of the Gospel to become a “public figure” or a social media influencer in our western culture?
